The Wanderers: Music

Tributaries

(The Wanderers)
2010-01-21
Carl Allen, Bill Murlin, Bill Staines
Bill Staines wrote a great song, "So Sang the River" about some of the nation's great rivers. We thought such a song should cover the great rivers of the Northwest. There are 24 tributaries to the Columbia River. We worked 17 of them into these lyrics, based on the Staines melody. The bridge talks about tearing out the dam on Washington state's White Salmon River, which had stopped salmon migrations for 100 years.
